The door sills are aluminum finished and say "MINI Cooper S". The regular Cooper also has similar door sills from the factory.

You can change out the metal polished door sill plates with aftermarket ones if you like.

And if you install the door side skirts from the aero kit they will have to remove the metal door sill plates and replace it with plain black plastic door sills. (sometimes they are painted body color I think).

so you really lose them if you install the aero side skirts? That's too bad cause i was thinking of installing those.

 

I've seen some nice aftermarket ones that you could install if you got the aero kit. Look at some of the vendors' online catalogues.
