Easy. Nothing to remove, only a minor spill when removing the oil filter. Checked the filter for any particles and clean as a doggie bone. 4 quarts of Castrol Syntec 0-30 and thats it. 3500 miles.

That's good to know! I realize they say the engines are so tightly machined that there's virtually no metal after the initial break-in period, but I've certainly had my doubts. So are you going to wait for the light to come on for your next change? Or are you committed to changing it more frequently?

I think I'll keep it Old Style regular, it was quick, and if I miss it by a few hundred miles (or even forget one) it won't really be a problem. I also saw on one of the braces near the oil fill, a stamped sign in the metal "Mini recommends Castrol", So much for the salesman insisting on Beemer Oil only.
