What is this thing hangin down? on my new mini?

I just received my new 2009 MCS and I found this thingy hanging down, near the foot rest on the left bottom side...what is it ?? and should it be tucked in somewhere? is it ok hangin loose?

No worries. I think that is just a programming plug. Just tuck it up and enjoy your MINI!! Congrats!

Push is straight up and it will snap over the OBD plug. It's tethered so you don't lose it when you run diagnostics on your mini.

Where, just above where the piece you see is hanging.

What, it allows you to gain access to the ECU, to get additional information not available in the OBC. Also, it allows you to get the codes and reset CELs.
