R52 (R90) wheels vs R57 (R90) wheels

Just got my first Mini Cooper S Conv. Gen 1 R52 on Wednesday . Still new at all the lingo. sorry for the basic question.

Would like to get new MINI wheels R90 Athracite.

Are there differences between the Wheels between the model types. (R52 vs R57)

As I am looking at the dealer pricing and the prices are different. R52 being cheaper. But since I am looking a other places to buy these, how would I know which model type the Wheels for Sale will Fit.

The wheels for the R52(up to late '06) have the lug holes drilled for 12mm lug bolts, the R57 wheels have lug holes drilled for 14mm lug bolts.

Welcome to NAM.

Thanks Partsman.

So this will sound real dumb as I know nothing about wheels expect knowing the one I like visually.

Can the R57 Wheels be put on a R52 Car since the Drill holes are larger. Is there something to make them be retrofitted.

If I am looking at the Buy and Sell Boards here, do I need to ask the seller if the wheels are R52 vs R57? They dont seem to list this in the descriptions.

You're welcome...the later(current) wheels will fit on the earlier cars with no issues.

So in terms of lug bolts, I can just use my current 12mm lug bolts on my MCS stock wheel with any (R57 / new) factory wheel I get? No need to get anything special when it comes lug bolts...
