What are "CENTERING RINGS??"

I was looking at OZ wheels and they come with "Centering Rings" Just what are these and what do you do to install them? Are they going to be a PIA to install the wheels using them? Are that safe to use or should I just plain forget these wheels.

Aftermarket wheels often have large dia. hub areas so they fit a variety of cars. Centering rings reduce the dia. to fit a particular car, and are available in aluminium or plastic. I prefer aluminum since they are only $15 at Discount Tire Direct. They keep the wheel from getting a little off-center and causing vibration.

Both my wheels have centering rings. They are somewhat of a nuisance when changing wheels if the don't fit tightly into the wheel. They are then an extra item to deal with. If they fit tightly into the wheel, it is more convenient. However, this isn't a big deal.

For 2nd Gen MINIs you need rings with a 56.1mm inside dia. 1st Gen may be the same, I'm not sure.

Just remember if you switch wheels out during the different seasons to remove the rings if theother wheels dont need them, as sometimes they get stuck on the car and you have to use a screwdriver to get them off
