New Clubman; first road trip

Well, I've had it for almost a week so it was time for a trip upstate for the weekend. Long Island to Shandaken in Ulster County, NY. The Clubman handled the load easily; bags for clothes, running gear, bicycle gear, swim gear, bicycles, food in bags, cooler and two cats in carriers. Riding past Woodstock I saw lots of Coopers but we had the only Clubman in town. At my first fill up I averaged 33 mpg and riding down the Thruway I was averaging 41 mpg, nice!

My wife and I have two houses, one on Long Island and one in Shandaken, just west of Woodstock. We also have two Maine Coon Cats. They have as much fun up there as we do.

How could you leave that guy home?

Is that a manual transmission? My trip mileage is about 4 mpg lower all around with my automatic. Nice pretty greenie Mini.

I have a Maine Coon cat too & he goes along with me to many places as well. Come to think of it, I also have a BRG MINI, coincidence?

Mine's an automatic also, but I'm 59 and I have to admit that I drive like an old man. When I had my 1970 MG Midget it had to be serviced every 3000 miles and I can remember the mechanic always telling me ''this car needs to be rung out, it gets all clogged up if you don't''. So I'd go out and try to hit it hard. Then I'd go back 3000 miles later and he'd tell me the same thing again!

the Midget; BRG of course!
