I have to thank the Annapolis police office who nailed me in a 25 mph zone doing 43 mph and chose to write me a warning. Truly good kharma was at play. He noted there had been 5 accidents on West St. in the last week (I didn't know) and they were targeting the area.

Then he asked me how long I'd owned the car (5 months) and that he had an Astro Blue MINI until he got divorced. He also cautioned me to be careful with the turbo.

The crazy thing is that I was motoring to a street festival with my wife, not on the gas, oblivious to the speed limit! I instantly thought I was toast, but things worked out for the best. I'll be much more vigilant on maintaining an awareness of the speed limit, especially in residential areas.

So this is to pass on the caution for anyone travelling in Annapolis, as well as to thank the kind officer. Who knows, he may even still be a member of NAM!

Someguy...You got LUCKY!! To bad mis-fortunes happened on the Officer and he lost his MINI.

BTW from the title of your thread I thought it was going to be Officer Bashing time, but kudos to you for passing along a lesson that everyone can learn from!!

 

oh man, you are lucky... The Annapolis police tend to be pretty nice, I've been let off by them twice, but the Anne Arundel County police are real sticklers. I don't even live in Anne Arundel county, but all but one of my *cough* many tickets have come from AA police officers.

Sweet, the LEO had a custom color MINI. Astro Blue doesn't exist. There is a Astro Black and Space Blue however (probably just got the colors mixed up.)

Nice of him to give you a warning as you were inching up to doubling the speed limit.
