Does anyone know why my thermometer, chimes and blinks? It's done it twice without warning. Both time happened within 5 minutes of starting the car. Did I miss something in the manual?

2003 MSC with cold weather package.

It's a warning when the temp gets below 38 degrees. It's a reminder to be on the lookout for icy conditions.

From some other post I've read I think it's trying to tell you to be careful cause it's cold outside. <38 degrees F I believe.

When the outside temp drops to 38F outside, a freeze-warning chime goes off. All BMW's have this feature.

(damn you Greatbear for beating me to it!)
