R50/53 Mini VS Z....
I cannot find the original thread for this, but the guy in the Z seems to be a decent chap.
This e-mail did not seem to be of a provate nature and I thought you all may enjoy.
Lol... Thanks for the e-mail. Someone posted a link on 350zforum to the mini forum. I really love the mini cooper. It has a great look, good performance, and a good price. I just could believe that somebody wanted to race against my Z in a straight line. As far as upgrades are concerned I so far I only have a Nismo R-tune intake, but I am installing an undercrank pulley this weekend. Anyway. I'm glad to see that mini owners and Z owner have mutual respect for each others cars (at least most of us... lol). Tell the people over at the mini site that the guy in the Z says hi. Oh yeah. I drive a 2003 350Z touring model coupe (Super Black). I thought about waiting for the '04 model roadster, but I really love the roof line of the hardtop. Cheers and Happy Driving!

I followed around a new white 350Z on a twisty fast turn and had no trouble keeping up. The 350Z owner did not appear to be amused at all. I think he was threatened by my presence. I wasn't that close but he sped up to pull away on a tight corner and I stuck with him and closed a little, then he headed off in another direction. On turns I think an MCS can keep up but you need to aware of your surroundings and the road conditions. I would not try anything on a straightaway.
Here's the original that I posted in the Performance Mods forum.

The guy who posted the "friendly" link was a friend of mine who recently bought a Z.

In my family we have the MCS and the g35 coupe which is the 350z with a different body and it fast. very quick off the line and stiff suspension to aid in the corners as well as RWD. i would think it would be at least somewhat off and away when playing with the minis. Both are some of the best cars available now!!!
