Spring recommendations

I have an 09 factory JCW coupe and thinking about lowering it. I put H&R sport springs on my Jetta GLI and I'm somewhat satisfied with them. There is a creaking coming from the front end, could be the strut bearings but with only 35K on it I would hope they would not be shot. Just curious if anybody locally has any thoughts on springs for the MINI. I saw some lowered MINI's at the Balducci winery run but wasn't sure who they belonged to. I'm looking to lower the car to improve handling/corning but I don't want to sacrifice the ride by much...meaning I don't want it to feel like I'm riding in buck board wagon. I know coil overs would be the way to go however I don't want to shell out that much money just to have the car lowered. Any input appreciated.

Since you've taken coilovers out of consideration lowering springs are about your only option. You'll get aprox 1" lowering and a higher quality spring to get the better cornering that you're looking for.

I have the Texas Speedworks installed on mine and am very satisfied (compared to the JCW springs I had on it). Gives me more handling, the ride is a little bumpier but it seems to absorb the bigger bumps better and of course a little meaner look (IMJ)

If you look a couple posts lower than this someone was trying to sell a set at a bargain price.

I use NM springs and Koni FSD strut/shocks - no sacrifice in ride quality and nice handling.

Got them thru Aaron at Outmotoring .com
