Got rear-ended!

My five month-old cabrio got rear-ended at a stoplight today. SUV hit it, I guess I can say I'm lucky no-one was hurt, and the damage is pretty light, but it is so maddening to have my new car damaged.

There are some scratches on the bumper and a pretty good dent in the boot, but it still opens/and closes OK....we'll see what the adjusters say about it tomorrow I guess.

Sorry to hear about your mini. Most important you're ok. Your mini did it's job of absorbing the impact and keeping you safe....especially against the force of an SUV.

Hope mini is repaired quickly and you're out on the road without a dented boot.

You gota wonder why a new car? It is frustrating to have new car wrecked, especially by others.

Boy, that stinks. Sorry to hear about the damage.

If it is any consolation it is amazing how well they can repair and hold tolerances today. I had a Mack truck do $13,000 damage to a BMW 3 series convertible several years ago and was amazed that the car drove like new after repairs and the Mack even moved the entire right front wheel and suspension back abut 18".

Hang in there!!!

sunnygirl--so sorry to hear of this latest chapter in your MINI 'adventure'. Due to own stupidity, my MINI barely rolled into a mobile home a few months ago. Though it was the other end of the car, the body shop had it fixed up in less than a week and I was off Motoring again.

Hope your recovery time is short and that you're back on the road soon!

Yea, I was just beginning to get my clutch issues behind me finally. It was a gorgeous sunny day, and I was telling myself how much fun this cabrio is to drive....then WHAM!....well I must admit, it wasn't a hard wham, just a lower case wham!

I'm getting my estimate tomorrow - I'm sure this can fixed good as new, and it drives fine in meantime, the boot even still functions.
