As I still haven't picked up a Mini S, I usually ask you guys for a piece of advice when one comes up in the area.

There is a '07 in my area, and it's a decent price, however it's up to 56k miles. Is that approaching the life of turbo/timing belt/cat/etc?

Also, the VIN is WMWMF73587TL83918. How can i find out which options the car was built with? Sport suspension and LSD would be the two important ones to me.

With the VIN, a MINI dealer might be willing to tell you about it. They should have access to it on their computer system.

 

Where do you live? There's icicles forming on that car...

I thought to myself "uh oh, it's like those fat chicks on myspace who post a picture from years ago, when they looked halfway decent".

It's August, and even here in at Pikes Peak, 14k feet up, there's not a single icicle in sight...

I think the vin is really a bad way to check out options on the car. Go check it out, wouldn't hurt. Can't tell if those are Brembo brakes or not, but you can see the red, so maybe. The car has 8 entries in carfax... so it's been sold a few times I bet. Another bad sign.

And, just my opinion here, there's no way in hell I would buy a car that put on 25k miles per year. Your warranty is almost shot on that car too!

Unless it's a "steal", I would suggest that you keep lookin.

 

I think that's fresh hail that was wiped off the car, not icicles. June had a lot of sudden hail this year.

It better be an unbelievable deal with 56k on it that is some high mileage unless it is kilometers

 

The ad says it is in Salt Lake City. Those things hanging down from the black trim below the doors can't be hail. The price has been reduced to $15,978. I think I would run away as fast as I could.
