Grill remove / MCS 53

Is there any thread of advice about removing and replacing the stock grill?
Other than using a screw driver to pry the nuts off the plastic screws.

Any tips or tricks?

thanks!!

I tried the twist and pry method and broke the plastic screw...

is there a suggested replacement?

Did you break all of the tabs?

Frankly I'm always surprised when this happens. The little spring bolts aren't hard to remove if you are patient. Get under the spring bolt and gently pry with one hand while turning it with a socket with the other.

For re-attaching, I found that skinny zip ties work wonders.

Are you looking to remove the top and bottom grills? I just removed the top and the bottom. To remove the bottom the bumper has to come off. The top grill was a PITA. Those stupid plastic bolts and those flimpsy bolts. I used a small screw driver to pry them down and a socket wrench to undo.

The bottom grille is easier to remove, the bumper has to come off. I plasti dipped the two chrome bits. The chrome bits remove off both top and lower grille with tabs, careful not to break them. They were on there tight as well.

For the top grille, I just used a 10mm socket and a flat head screw driver, and just kept switching between the two...I got them all off with only breaking one of the plastic screws...I did however loose about 4 or 5 of the friggin washers!
