DIY Bonnet Stripes...specs???

I am looking to cut some rally stripes tomorrow for my 09 MCS and while i have no problems doing the actual install, I was wondering if anyone has the specs as to how wide they are from the factory? Both over all and the width of the white. I think i will be fine with cutting a 4.5 wide black stripe and then border that with .375" white border...but i figured it was free to ask

I just don't have a dealer close to me and if i happened to see one in a parking lot they might get freaked out if i started measuring.

I think i read that the placement is 20mm inside the wiper sprayer and 10mm outside the air intake.

The only thing I think you might have an issue with is that the factory ones (and aftermarket ones you can get) are curved, to work with the curves of the bonnet. If you cut just straight stripes they're going to end up funky I think.

I was wondering that too....i have some removable vinyl in the shop and will be cutting a couple of trial runs. I could create a curved file..but i have not read anywhere that people are running into that problem.

I certainly don't want a wavy line.

I doubt there are many who have tried to duplicate the factory stripes with hand-cut DIY stripes. They usually take the opportunity to do something unique.

I certainly don't want a wavy line.
That might be interesting.

I had my DIY stripes cut at a local Sign shop, just gave him the sizes and had them cut to the proper width, the lenght was not nearly as important so long as it' long enough.
