R50/53 Last minute order advice- floor mats, three spoke SW, aux in
Before I say anything, thanks for the many people who helped me figure out what I wanted to get. Tomorrow @ 7PM the orders goes in, then off to Chicago followed by the UK for work. Does the Oxford plant give Saturday tours? Will be in Birmingham, oh joy...
Anyways, two questions-
*Are their any other floor-mats than the default mini ones? I'll be ordering lapis leather, so want something that will match??? I checked with R-Speed, checkered floor-mats with blue/black would be rad... Very rad
*Regarding the three-spoke steering wheel, my order will be "December", what does it take to get this confirmed? But no wheel until week 49? hmmm, 50/50 chance then??? I spoke with 3 different people at askMini and my dealer, it sounds like this will be std. on the sport package first? But that means 17" wheels, that means weight. Tho, I actually prefer the look of the 17", seem to fit the car better... dillemas.
*For the aux-in, should I order this with the car or seperate? $40 seems ok.
I do, tho, plan on my own install. I always prefer my own work.
But twitters (after my parakeet)---------------
Will be a:
2004 EB/White/Silver wheels MCS, Premium Package, HK, Aux input, Sport Package (16" or 17" depends), Lapis Leather, dimming mirror.
Planned mods- intake, mini fini armrest, XM radio, later- possible exhaust.

Floor mats with white in them start to look grubby real fast. I would stay with black if possible. Maybe a logo but thats about it.
Although I ordered the factory mats I will cancel that prior to pickup and substitute those from Moss Motors. You get five mats for the price of 2, same quality.

I'd recommend you wait on ordering floor mats until after you take delivery, in case your dealer throws them in for free. I made the mistake of buying some ahead of time, then my nice dealer threw some in, so now I have an extra set I don't need.
And if you decide against the MINI mats, there are lots of aftermarket options out there in various colors and patterns...just scan through the websites of all the MCO sponsors to get an idea of what's out there.
Regarding the Aux In, installing it yourself is fairly easy (or so I hear - I haven't done mine yet myself) and the big advantage is you can mount it anywhere you want. Besides the default glovebox location, lots of MCOers have put theirs in the euro parcel shelf, and some folks have prefered to just let it dangle under the toggle switch area.
