I did one last year.. I enjoyed it, but less than a motorcycle. The power was good (compared to my Dyna-Glide), but ride was a bit darty over any crown in the road, and any direction change had me moving the opposite way of the turn which was a bit odd. Took a bit to be comfortable using the foot only for braking. Driving over gravel and loose surfaces was very nice though.
Hey Steve, have you seen the one Lake Villa is using for the Police?
I have not seen that police bike yet (fortunately). I do see a few out and around most Sunday mornings.
I don't really see the point in something like this. It is some kind of pavement atv or land seadoo, probably under powered for it's weight.
Their target market is people who have not ridden bikes before.. They have traction control, stability control, ABS, and also offer a semi-automatic trans as an option.
It puts out over 100 hp and weighs under 1000 pounds, so it's not exactly a slug (unless you are comparing them to sportbikes). I was in 3rd at 60mph in the middle of the powerband, and there were still a couple gears to go.
Whether you are in this or on a bike when you get hit by a** in an SUV not paying attention you will still be killed... So I will take the bike and I guess get the more "pure" experience.
