R56 BMW CCA Auto-x @ Streets of Willow
BMW CCA Auto-x @ Streets of Willow
Read it here first folks... On Sunday August 16, 2009 BMW CCA LA will hold an auto-x at Streets of Willow. This is a first for our chapter (in recent memory). It is NOT a HPDE, nor an open track day. It is NOT a time trial. This will be an auto-x in the traditional sense, but will take place on a race track.
Due to the cost associated with the venue, registration is $100 ($110 if you procrastinate and pay the day of) with a fee of $10 to rent a helmet. Extra lunches are $10 each. Your fee pays for track rental, fire/safety, lunch, water and instruction. This is a screaming good deal and a great way to try your skills on a track.
We plan to run clockwise, including the bowl. To keep speeds down we will not use the skid pad and we will place cones on the two straights. Because of this convertibles are allowed but discouraged.
Gates open at 7:00 and first car out will be 9:00. We will have 4 run groups which will be randomly assigned. Since this is not a HPDE there is no need for novice, intermediate and advanced groups. Beginners are most welcomed and non-BMW's are encouraged.
Please note this is event is an experiment. Based on how it goes we may or may not hold more auto-x's at Streets next year. Come help us make it a great success!

See you all there!
