(My) Mini in the Mountains

Just thought I'd share a pic I took of my Mini up near Walden this weekend. Did a little mini-road-trip (ha), drove up Poudre Sat morning and back down on Sunday. While I was up there I roamed around Arapahoe Nat. Wildlife Refuge and a couple of the SWA's. Here's the pic:

Isn't that just the best road ever!
Really great photos - you've got the shutterbug eye.
Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful! Excellent pictures! What a sky... and birds... everything about aviation
Would you mind sharing what kind of equipment and settings you use?

Yes, really nicely composed and exposed photos, David. To see the camera info, click the link to get to the SmugMug album. Hover your mouse near the right side of the larger photo (to get the list of choices), then click the Photo Info icon. Possibly requires Flash your browser.

Thanks everyone! The Mini made a great backroads/dirt roads explorer, even made it up some mild NFS roads. Was hoping to snap a moose, didn't find one though. Next time.

The camera is a Canon 5D MkII, lenses are 100-400 4.5-5.6L for shots 1-14 bird shots, a 600 F4L for 15-30, and a 24-105 F4L for the two landscape shots at the end.

Rick thanks for pointing out the info view, that's the easiest way to see whatever I was doing. Typically I use aperture priority mode for wildlife and set the F-stop wide open or close to it. The 600 F4 needs to be stopped down a little to get better sharpness. For all the wildlife shots I like a pretty fast shutter, so I typically bump up the ISO to get the shutter I want. I suppose I could just use shutter priority mode.

For the two landscape shots I just put it in Program mode and it figures everything out.

Post-processing I use Lightroom, usually just for cropping and to muck with contrast and colors a little.
