Wondering if anyone has put a soft top surf rack on a MINI with a sunroof. Have a 9' long board. Would drive about 30 min at lower speeds (40 mph). Worried that that it could damage the glass, etc.

I have seen roof racks on R56's with sunroofs, didn't look like they were bothering the glass at all. I don't think it was an OEM rack though.

I'd say opening the roof with a surf board on the rack might be a bad idea.

It just looks like a bad idea. I thought there might be a way to design a rack that bolts on somewhere, but attaching it to the soft top looks BAD.
