White roof, white mirror caps, white bonnet stripes...BLACK wheels?

Would that look too weird? anyone in here has tried that at all? or know someone that has?

I have ugly silver s winders or whatever they are called, i really love the look of black wheels...mostly with the brake calipers painted red...however my roof, mirror caps and stripes are white...

I dont mind white wheels, i used to have them on my old 04 indie blue, they look very nice...a bit of a pain to clean, but i just always wanted to have black wheels.

would it help the look(of going with black wheels) if i remove the bonnet stripes and get some checkered mirrow caps?

opinions about the whole thing, anyone?

Thanks!

PS: I have a chilli red s

I've ran black or gun metal wheels on my CR/W Mini S for about a year.

Here is the gun metal in 18 x 7.5

Here is a set of black 17 x 7. Its a bad picture of a nasty car, but you get a general idea. I'm not really sold on them yet.

Thanks for the answers guys....WSR your car doesn't look nasty, it looks niceeeee. You have the carbon black mirror caps on though, that helps a lot with the black wheels look...i liek the way it looks, i think i'll might go for it.

Looks like the MINI is confused.

If you want black wheels, use black accents on the MINI.

I agree, there should be no rules with this car! That's what the Mini is all about, being different isn't being wrong. It wouldn't be my choice, but my choice doesn't have to be yours. White wheels are a pain in the A** to keep clean, as you suggested maybe tieing in a few more black accessories will do the trick.

Who said it was a rule ? It's an opinion !

Black wheels with white roof, mirrors, and stripes = severe suckage. OPINION !

Cool... the more people that don't like them, the more unique my MINI is.

How do you feel about my other two ??

I think that colors have to be considered as part of the whole look, not just the other colors. Black wheels look aggressive to me and tend to fit better with lowered MINIs with a more aggressive stance like you would get from neg-camber or an aero kit. But, yes, it can definitely work with the right elements. Good luck & have fun!

Naw, my MINI ain't confused, but the driver is.

I'm really thinking hard about taking off the white stripe and going to a black stripe to tone down the white even more.

Yes, I think it would look better lowered somewhat, but my old bones have a hard enough time getting in and out of it now.

Yeah, black stripes and black mirrors would make the black wheels look like they belong, IMO.

Can we vote for silver? Black has a tendency to hide the design of the wheel and it typically gets lost in the overall image of the car. If that's what you're looking for, go for it Otherwise, I would go silver, or a shade somewhere between silver and black.

I tend to agree. The more I look at my black wheels, the less I like them. I much prefer the gun metal wheels.

My personal feeling is that dark wheels on dark paint tend to become focal points. Ligher colored wheels I think tend to complement the motif in darker body colors, rather than compete with them.

Its all personal preferance, and that individuality of Mini can be celebrated!

Like some others have mentioned, I too think that solid black wheels tend to get "lost" in the tire, wheel well, and black fender trim around car for my taste. If they have a silver/chrome lip of some sort it helps to break up all that black some.. I've been wanting a second set of wheels and want some black in them just haven't been able to make my mind up on them. I like the feature on Tire Rack's web site that lets you "kinda" see how they will look but I have painted arches so I don't really get the right visual with it...
