DIY water injection system

Hi all
I am just wondering if anyone has successfully installed a DIY water inj. system on their R56 Cooper S?
I am looking at installing one on mine, on the intercooler cold side where the pipe is visible before it reaches the T/B.
Systems with controllers etc are a lot of money but I see no reason why a DIY system with a manual switch (activated in the cabin for instance) wouldn't work just as well?
Has anyone got any experience with this?

Thanks
Nick

mmmm, I baught mine from Alta, I am super happy with it it works great and I feel a difference when it kicks in. it would be hard with a switch because you want it on only at certain points. I have an extra pump I can sell you if you want.
