Newbie advice on black MINI

Hi, just picked up my new mini! Used to have a swift, so there pretty similar, but didnt do much to the swift. But fancy making a few changes to this to make it not look like much of a girls car lol

Its asto black, but with loads of chrome on, which i dont particulally like. And planning of getting rid of! Inside im happy with, as the person i got it from had pretty much every extra put on it.

Below is a picture of the car, and i have circled the bits i want to change, for now!

Ive had a price for the grille from one of the sponsors, just waiting for him to get back to me on payment details so that i can purchase that.
Ive red many things about this plastidip, i was thinking about using it on all of the other chrome bits, but with the car being astra black, i dont think it will look right, as it appears to be a matt black finish, what do you think? Or is there a better paint that will blend in with the astra black.

As for the wheels, i was thinking of going all black, been looking at the ones below.

Id appreciate as much advice as possible, as i want to get this right first time. Thanks Alex

I was in the exact same boat as you about 2 years ago with my astro black mini with a lot of chrome. As you said, plastidip will have the matte black look to it, my opinion is to get the parts painted body colour. Its not overly expensive and just looks right.

As you can see I have painted my grill, side trim and given the headlights a Joey Mod so the insides are body colour now.

Thanks for the reply mate! When you say you had the sides done, what do you mean, did you have the plastic bit painted to match? Or is it not the plastic? Thanks Alex

I had all the black plastic trim that circles the entire car painted body colour. So the trim that goes around the wheel arches, side skirts and front and rear bumpers.
