So after having the car for 22 months and 18,000 miles my service light finally came on! Is there anything special I should ask for when I take it in? Like stuff they won't give you unless you ask?

Side question: Does anyone know if they do state inspections for free? Just curious if that is something included in the 'free' service...

no, I took it in on the 1 year anniversary...although they acted like I was a problem when I got there and I should wait until my service light came on.

 

State Insp is not included in pre-pay maint' from MINI

BUT

I have known dealers to cover it gratis .... never hurts to ask.

I'm at 22 months and still 1400 miles out from "first service"
