Help - SHIPPING MINI PARTS Coast to Coast....

Not able to locate any threads on this.....

First - I have a MCS bumper to ship to CA, UPS wants as much for shipping as the cost of the part ? It only weighs 24 lbs....but it is rather tall box.

Secondly - There is also a full kit I want shipped to me, and seller wants to use Grayhound Bus to ship for around 225.00, from CA to MA......

Anyone here have much experience in these matters ? Is Grayhound reliable as far as covering cost of damages and do they guarantee delivery ? What happens if some parts get dropped off at wrong stop, is there any recourse ?

Is there cheaper way to ship large parts from one coast the other ?

Any help would be much appreciated.
