This mornin I was just drivin about.. I just woke up, so I was dead tired and what not. I was cruising down the road and then I came to a stop-light.

Mind you, I wasn't speeding or driving erratically or anything, fact I think I was notably the slowest person on the road, I was driving speed limit. I'm trying to get my P.O.S.T. Certification and they frown upon a bad driving record, me having 4-Points currently is not going to appease anyone. But I digress...

So I just glanced at my mirror while I was sitting at a light, and voila.. CHP was just behind me with his lights flashing.

So I go and pull it over down the block... and this guy gets off his bike, looks around my car a few times... takes a minute, walks around the back... and then comes to my door, asks me for my license and Registration.

I asked him why he pulled me over, and he said because my tail-lights are modified. I told him they were able to be seen from a proper distance in broad daylight and that they were legal in color and function.

He replied "They don't have the DOT stamp on them."... so he got me with CVC 26101 which then complies to CVC 26104 which basically means there is no way I can get out of this unless I show them a DOT marking, which I cannot because there are none on this particular tail light.




So this is what I need to ask of someone...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.. if anyone has an 05-06 MINI, I need to borrow your OEM Tail Lights. If anything just for 15 minutes while I get my ticket signed off. We can exchange them if you require but I'm in a real pickle and I've been out of work since March so I can't afford to get new ones or even used ones. If anyone can help me out, please email me...
