How's the prices of new Mini in socal these days? and Dealer recommendation.

We are thinking about getting a car soon and doing the research.

I wonder how the prices of Mini in socal? Are the dealers still holding firm on prices (MSRP)? or Better deals are available these days (based on the economy and the way cars sales are these days)

thanks for the help

Advice + Good Luck!

I recently pulled the trigger on a new MC last week and managed to get the price below MSRP. After reading several threads on NAM, I was really hesitant on trying to bargain with the dealer, and I almost convinced myself that I would be perfectly fine paying MSRP.

But in the, end I realized they need my business more than I need the car. With MINI sales down in April, it certainly doesn't hurt to try to bargain down the price. In my experience, the dealer is more likely to go below MSRP on a car on the lot and be stingy with discounts on orders. I'm not sure which direction you are going with on your purchase. Regardless, its definitely a buyer's market and you should at least try to get a price you are comfortable with.

I shopped all over SoCal looking for the best offer. After a back-and-forth between two dealers, I got $750 off an ordered SS/W MC, plus free floor mats and wheel locks. Free floor mats seem to be an incentive all dealers throw in with the purchase of a MINI, but its certainly not the only way they can earn your business.

Hope this helps and feel free to ask anymore questions. Good luck!

I was just at MINI of Monrovia on Tuesday. They easily had 30-40 MINIs on the lot. About 1/2 them were automatics (*shrug*). Only a few of them had a $1000 "Market Adjustment" on the sticker- Mostly those with a lot of add ons.

I was surprised to see a few Coopers as low as $21k. Overall I felt the prices on the stickers were fair, even the maxxed out JCW convertible with everything for $41,000!!! (I went home and configured the same and it came out to $43-something).

I was camped out in the showroom or the lot for the 2.5 hours I was there (service visit); In that time I only saw one couple come in to ask about the cars. A very slow morning @ MoM...

Once I realized that in theory I could afford a new MINI, I didn't pay too close attention to the sticker prices- for fear of talking myself into it.

Hope that helps!

Question...

I visited Monrovia during my recent hunt and they were nothing but polite and open during our talks. The MA at Monrovia took me on my very first test drive in a MINI. I really appreciated his honesty and laid back approach to what could have been a very serious ordeal. I was sincerely crushed when they couldn't match Long Beach's offer on my MINI order, and I had to take my business to a less convenient dealer.

On a positive note, Monrovia did make an offer below MSRP, so they are definitely worth a shot if you plan on ordering a MINI. I didn't really talk to them about the cars on the lot though, so I can't speak to their pricing on that end...

irieman - How is the service department at Monrovia? When my MINI finally makes it to California, I'll be taking it to Monrovia for service. I'd like an idea of what I can expect from them. Thanks!

Hey Robo... Since separating from ASSAEL BMW my experience with the Service Dept. has been pretty impressive, albeit I have only had one real issue to contend with.* For the couple times I've been down there all I can say is that the SAs are friendly and my car has always been ready at the time they said it would be. Oh, and coffee by Starbucks.

Oh, and they don't provide loaners. :(

*FYI- my most recent visit was due to a broken motor mount.
