Thinking about changing out my H/K H/U

I currently have the stock H/K system in my 2005 MCSCa. I took out the original dealer installed iPod adapter about a year and a half ago and replace it with a DICE and XM adapter from EAS. They have worked well - especially the XM part.

However, I'd like to add better iPod/iPhone integration and bluetooth. Navigation would be a bonus but not necessary.

I know there were some wiring loom adapters from newministuff.com a while back that would allow me to have minimal hacking on the harness and to be able to use the original speakers. Am I correct in my recollection?

Also, what head unit would anyone recommend? Want good function and a quality brand.
