The Pendleton Underground Tour

Well, it’s about that time of year again. Spring will be here and that means a 3 day weekend is in order. This isn’t only about the Underground Tour this is also about the drive and what better way to spend a long weekend than with your fellow Mini Club members out on the open road.

THE HISTORY OF THE

PENDLETON UNDERGROUND TOURS

Pendleton Underground Tours started in 1989, giving tours of Pendleton's red light district. The history of legal and illegal businesses operating in the same area for over 100 years makes the tour unique and like no other tour anywhere. The tour was very controversial because part of the subject matter is about gambling, the Chinese, bootlegging and prostitution. In 1990, after opening the "Cozy Rooms" bordello, Chinese jails and the Opium Den, the tour became even more questionable. The history of the Chinese in Eastern Oregon and their role in building the west is also unique.

Due to the popularity of the Underground Tour we have only 10 tickets left so if you are not one of the people that picked up a ticket, Pendleton also has a few other things in town to do such as Hiking at the Bridge Creek Wildlife Area, visiting the Pendleton Center for the Arts, several museums, shopping or you can just grab a few others and explore the excellent roads in the area.

They will be held on a first come–first served basis, so the sooner you respond the better chance a spot will have your name on it. Once we confirm you have a spot you can send your check for $40.00 per person to the following address.
