I have a copy of the book. The center cap says MINI. Other than that, I don't think I can help you much. The wheels do look good though IMO.

They are Raceline Wheels, an English lightweight wheel. Unfortunatly they are no longer manufactured.

Is there a close alternative that someone could scrounge up?

yep, word is the manufacturer ran into some trouble prior to release---financial I think. Good looking wheel. Knock offs to come soon, probably. A lot of folks on mini2 like 'em as well.

These seem pretty close. These are on special right now for $500 plus tires! What do honestly think? Are they too cheap looking? I really like a 7-spoke in white, but I was hoping for 16".

Also, I don't really know much about wheels, just what I like. But, would it be possible with any aftermarket wheel for that matter to get some sort of MINI-badged center cap?
