I'm sorry, my sister tried to put this in the club thread, but she is new to this whole forum thing so she had to post under my name for now.... I have started a mini cooper club (M.O.T.E.) based in Edgewater, NJ. We plan on having meets and rallies and fun stuff for mini owners in the area to do. This Friday we are attempting to have a little mini meet and greet in Edgewater..maybe some coffee (starbuck, mcdonalds, something of the sort in the shopping center)... I need to find out first if people are available... at 7pm Friday??

 

Hi everyone. So if you check over on minis-on-the-edge.org there is a rally in the plans for march 1st. We're deeming it "monster" rally. We'll be starting in edgewater, nj and travelling over to edison, nj to see the largest lightblub in the US. (good pic opportunity). Then over to a place called Harolds deli where they are known for huge sandwhiches and desserts that feed 3-4 people each! Hi everyone. The rally was great. It ended up being clear weather for it too. We had 4 cars at the start (one was a '79 classic) and then 3 more minis met us at the deli. There are pics up on minis-on-the-edge.org

 

We regret to say the rally for Saturday has been canceled because we did not have enough people sign up this time. Watch for another one to be posted in near future. Sorry guys!

Ok, here's the deal. Quite a few people have been asking for another rally soon... So- this Saturday March 14th is going to be the Sean's Shenanigans Shamrock Run! (if there is enough interest)

General Info:
Startpoint: Edgewater, NJ at 10:30am. (exact place in edgewater to be determined..)
How it works: there will be several picture/word clues on the rally's website http://www.minis-on-the-edge.org/SeansRun You will have two days to research the clues so that you can find where they are and plan your route accordingly. At each location there will be something Irish-like in numerical order for you to grab (one per mini please!) to prove you were at that location. While driving there are going to be special Irish signs posted that you will need to record for extra points! At the last location, we will use the Irish signs recorded as well as the numbered trinkets at each location to determine a winner who will get a prize!

How long is it?
Total driving time from starting point to last destination is about 1hour and 40 minutes (with no traffic of course). Our last destination has some Irish fair! (yummy food) so when you figure out the last clue, you will be able to see a menu on their website.

Important:
It helps to have at least one other person in the car to run and grab things and record symbols. The locations seem to be in places with parking, but you never know how busy they are going to be.

This is not a race! This is why we use the numbered irish trinkets AND the Irish signs posted.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE COMING!!! I NEED TO KNOW TO FIGURE OUT IF THIS RUN IS GOING TO HAPPEN... AND FOR OUR LAST DESTINATION RESERVATIONS!! SO EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT DOING THE RUN AND WANT TO MEET US AT THE LAST DESTINATION (in the nutley nj area), PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE!

you should post these threads need the NJ section ! (MONJ) I never knew about this "Monster rally because it wasn't posted there. Only reason I happened to see this, is because you just posted so as I scrolled down to check NJ, this thread was highlighted.

I've been to the Thursday nite car meets in Edgewater but usually the only MINI there ! That's a very good turnout and Starbucks is right there in the plaza. My only gripe is some of the roads are terrible, pot-holes etc so I have to drive slow and cautious until I get on the main strip

The only problem with that is MONJ is a "club" also and some might might think it rude to post my club info in their club forum. We are a new club and do not have a sub forum here yet so thats why I posted in Miscellaneous Event Discussion. I don't want to offend anyone by posting in their club activities without their permission.

And the car meets down here are "CRAZY" ... we live down here and every Thursday night with good weather, hundreds of cars and bikes are driving through the town. But you better be sure your car or bike is legal (window tint, lights, plates and such) because there is always at least 3 cop cars in the parking lot handing out tickets and 3 more on the streets waitin for ya to make any little mistake. The crowds of people walking around that parking lot is just nuts! Sometimes you can't even drive down the row your in to leave. The crowds don't wanna part and you literally have to crawl down the isle.
We used to bring my sisters Imapla SS down when she was looking to sell it.
Where could you get more exposure for free!
Now she has a mini too!
