My Prima Slick got moldy
My Prima Slick got moldy
Almost 2 years ago I got a gallon of Prima Slick. Shortly after getting it, I decided to give up on quick detailing so I've only gone through about a third of it when waxing or polishing, etc.
I pulled it down from the shelf this weekend and saw it had black mold or mildew or something nasty growing inside the bottle. So be careful with your ordering. A gallon of Slick is a good deal, but only if you're going to use it!

There isn't a ton of preservative in there, so if you double dip or splash back, you could run into contamination issues. The fragrance is a combination of organic and synthetic stuff.
It's a risk we take to get the product the way we want. You don't take the risk by buying by the gallon. We're happy to replace it for you. Just shoot me an email and I'll take care of you. Nick@detailersparadise.com

Could this be customer service? I've heard tell of it before but to hear about it so close to the source is astonishing.
With service like that you could be starting a new trend. Someday, because of DP, the IRS may call to tell you that you made a mistake and should get money back.

This saves me from starting a new thread...
I just pulled down my gallon of Hydro so that I could give some to a friend to try after it stops raining here, and I found the same thing. A thick layer of mold-like substance, which looks strangely like the mother I use to make vinegar, except it's black and blueish green.
Since i'm not going to drink the Hydro or use it as an ice cream topping, I assume it's perfectly good to use still and will just lose some of the fragrance?

Um, I found a dead baby mouse in my bottle of Slick, and a severed finger in my Banana Gloss...
Can I get replacements?
Or maybe some free beers, ay?
Of course I'm kidding. I love my Prima products and as far as I know they are in good shape. I better do a massive detail tomorrow just to be on the safe side.
