Service recommendations (non dealer) in North Jersey

I live in West New York, NJ right near New York City.

I'm looking for a garage who's very familiar with MINIS and can do repairs and routine service. My 2002 Cooper S is already at 100,000 miles and I want someone good to take her to.

Prestige MINI has been servicing me well for the last few years, but i'm hoping to save a few dollars while still keeping my MINI in top shape.

A good Body Shop reccomendation would also be helpful. the local Punks have keyed my car over the years and parralel parking has left some scars.

Body Shop

There's a body shop I used in Nutley, NJ named Elite A/B, 92 E Centre St, 07110, 973-667-0541

It was recommended by my VW Dealership. I used him twice. They redid my front bumper and broken turns lens; quoted $350 but ending up paying $250.

tough one. a shop that specializes in BMWs might be able to do work on a Mini. One hopes.

As for painting, collision restoration in fairfield, NJ, did a great job in matching up the Pure Silver on my Mini.

What type of work were you looking to have done? For small stuff I have brought it to my local guy and have been very happy with his work, but when it came to bigger problems they usually would give it back to me no charge
and tell me to bring it to the Dealer.

Yes, one would hope but if they haven't serviced any, they may not be inclined to do so.

There's a good Bmw specialty shop nearby me in Elizabeth right off rte 1&9 who is really reasonable and does many mods too. I forget the name of the place but if anyone is interested I will get it. And best of all literally right next door is a very good bodyshop.

Edit: The place is called Beemer Clinic

Which Apple workshops have you attended? I've been trying to attend, but have had to cancel a few times. Also, what was the Portuguese restaurant you were planning to have a meet at, but it got cancelled. I was talking with a customer of mine that had lunch today at a restaurant in the Ironbound section, but couldn't remember the name and was curious if it's the same restaurant you were planning to have the meet at! He's eaten at this restaurant many times, but can't remember the name! hahahah

Ive attended worksops in Edison, at the Menlo Park Apple store. (closest for me, and thats where i bought my Mac) but you can attend at any Apple store. You can schedule online or in person at the store. Certain more "in depth" workshops are done at thier Flagship stores, Like the Iweb workshop which i really want to attend but will have to do that in Nyc on 5th ave.

About the portuguese restaurnt, well there are numerous in Ironbound ! The one i was planning on doing a meet at (until Wolfee blew me off last min cough, cough) was called "Metiteranean Manor". Theres also Solmar", Seabras" (seafood house) Adega grill, Iberia just to name a few. I can suggest a good place depending on your tastes. PM me and i can give you more info as im already rambling too much here

Sounds like a plan

Beemer Clinic is relatively new shop, been open about a year or so i think so they may not be listed anywhere online yet and dont have a website, so no you are not going crazy ! however he has grown a good reputation amongst the Bmw crowd on the bmw forums. They gets alot of work through "word-o mouth". They used to work for other Euro-shops ive heard and then just got a shop of their own specializing in Bmw's. I will see if i can get you their number

Hahaha, true, NOT bad info. I misspoke. It's good info! Some great things said about the guy who runs it and the work they do there on various BMW sites. Has anyone confirmed whether or not they'll work on MINIs?
