Winterize Car

My mini will be sitting for about a month and a half from now until mid Feb. Should I do anything for this short of a time to winterize it? The gas tank is on E right now, should I leave it like that or fill it up and put Stabilizer in the tank? Anything else that should be done?

Thanks!

Just making sure your fluids and gas are full should be sufficient. With a full tank you'll run less risk of moisture accumulating. A battery minder will take care of that issue along with making sure the electrolyte level is correct.

I have always used Stabil when storing the bike. But that was in New York and for at least 3 months. I would say 6 weeks wouldn't be a problem, but if your worried then it can't hurt.

Of course when the mothballs come off, you have to drive it like you stole it. If you don't it will feel negelected and you don't want your MINI mad at you!

I am going to be storing my Mini from next weekend through Mid April (getting a beater for a daily driver). I am concerned with rodents getting up into the engine and eating wires. Anything I can do to prevent that?

Three words, Location-Location-Location. I recommend storing in a sealed isocontainer or a really clean storage/garage facility. Leaving a vehicle out in the elements w/car cover is the best way to get a rodent problem.
