smog testing in NV with exhaust mods

I am considering doing an aftermarket exhaust mod to my 07 MCS. Has anybody done this with a cat back with the second or first cat conv or resonator removed and had problems passing emissions??

Shouldn't affect emissions so long as you don't touch anything from the cat forward. In theory anyway.

Do they do a visual inspection? Out here I've heard of folks not passing due to aftermarket parts. Not because it didn't still pass emissions, but because it wasn't OEM or have an approved for CA part.

i don't think there is a visual inspection but not 100% sure. What I wanted to do though is take off the 2nd cat and leave the first. Wondering if having the first is enough to pass the NV emissions. Anybody done this in CA or NV?

Not in NV. A friend of mine has straight headers (no cat at all) and hardcoded his ECU to produce the right numbers over the OBDII port (not a MINI). Passes evry time.
