After your MA put your ordering data in the MINI production system how long did it take before you were able to get a production date, either from the system itself or by calling the ASKMINI number?

It depends on your dealer's allocation. If they have slots now, you'll get it soon. If not there might be a wait. I had to wait about a month from the time I ordered until I had a production number. That was during the summer of 07.

 

Mine was ordered 11/01, production completed 11/09 and on the boat 11/10. It will be in CA 12/01. A lot faster then the 2 1/2 months they were telling me it would take.

 

If you ordered your car within the past few weeks then it can be all over the board. If you were able to get week 48 or 49 the you should should know that already, or very soon, as that is only 2-3 weeks out. If you are not able to get in for one of those weeks then you date will not be until the new year, as the factory will be closing after week 49. I don't know if they are assigning week 1 production yet or not.

I ordered my car on 10/20/08 and got a production number about a week later, then a confirmed production week on 11/04 for week 48 from the BMW/MINI system. It showed up on the MINI Owners' Lounge website a few days after that.

If you really want to know the status of your car then talk to your MA so they can check the BMW/MINI system, it takes less than 5 minutes for them to look it up. However, if you don't have a production number yet then they can't really give you too much information.

 

Your dealer must have a lot of open slots. Or you just got really lucky. I ordered mine on 10/20 and am expecting it around 12/20.
