Motorweek Test Drive MINI Cooper JCW

Did anyone see Motoweek on PBS? They test drove the JCW. The horsepower numbers where higher than what was originally reported at 211 hp 192lb. ft. torque.

I think there best time was 6.5 sec to 60 mph. Isn't that the same time the normal s version reaches 60?

Video: (hope they will post it soon)

Both Road & Track and Car and Driver achieved a 6.2 second 0-60 time with a stock R56 MCS.

I have a feeling there are a lot of factors to consider (driver, temperature, altitude, etc.), and under the right conditions, an R56 JCW should be able to reach 60 in 6 seconds flat, if not less.

Also you have to consider the automatic always got 2 tenths of a seconds faster than the manuals in tests. The JCW only gets a manual.

about the 0 to 60 times from testers

I do not think they always go to a drag strip and run the car they are testing. They just compare to something they already have on file. If it was a full blown road test and not just an introduction type thing I think the time would be more accurate for the JCW.
