R56 Tail lights
Tail lights
Hi there!
10 days into owning my new YM MCS, somebody clipped it while it was parked - bumper dented and driver's side tail light kaput. I take it in stride - Brooklyn, you know :-)
Funny thing is, while gen. 1 tail lights are available all over for as low as $32 a pop, the lowest I found gen. 2 tail was $120 from a NJ MINI dealer, and none anywhere else! Any info on whether they will be available on the net? So far had no luck finding any used ones either...

My experience is that Gen 2 cars are too young to have much of a stock parts aftermarket, or to have a used market that's any size. That's changing as we speak, but (as far as I know) all stock parts for Gen 2 cars are coming straight from MINI.
Be thankful, I remember that a tail-light lens for a 1964 M-B 190D was $170 back in 1974. Makes $120 now sound pretty reasonable.
