Picture of MINI with new wheels and tires.............

I've had the wheels and Falken 912's for about a month now. Replaced my Dunlop runflats and white 5 spoke 16" wheels. The wheels and tires came from Discount Tire Direct, mounted, balanced and shipped to my door for $696. The tires do ride a bit smoother and they are quiet...but, I've definately lost some of the "go cart" feeling the runflats, with their stiff sidewalls, gave my MC. Spiriting cornering allows me to feel the flexing of the 912s and makes MINI seem a little more disconnected from the road than the runflats did. Of course, other more expensive non-runflats might be better.

Still, I like the wheels and tires a lot and would recommend them to anyone as a relatively inexpensive tire/wheel change that has a classic Mini look.

195/60/15, the higher sidewall probably contributes to the "squishy" feeling, but I wanted to keep the tire diameter close to the original....and, being the cheap guy I am, the 60 series tires are cheaper by about $15 bucks a tire.

And I like the looks of the non-rubber band looking tires better.

Nice! What wheels are those? I am looking for a 16" classic-style wheel that I can powdercoat white.

I'm with you on that!
I currently use 195/60/15 on my R56 but I have to say 15's look better on R50s & 53s. They feel good and run well, but the higher stance on my car just gives them a little different look.
Also, I've never seen those wheels at Discount Tire in black.

They are Konig Rewinds.......$107 each from Discount Tire Direct.

There is a long thread here that discusses them. They only come in 15" for the MINI.

Search Konig Rewind and you should get a lot of pictures and info.

Thanks. No wonder I couldn't find them. I need 16". I think Rota makes a similar wheel in 16".
