Straight exhaust, no cats, no resonators and just mufflerss. You must be in the <25 age group?

Hey now! im in the <25 group and have always despised loud/fart can exhausts! SOME of us in this age group appreciate a subtle car or one that isn't rattling windows.

The Invidia is the louder of the cat-backs, but its not loud at all.

I'd recommend just running a straightpipe with maybe 1 resonator. I've driven mine around like this and it sounds pretty good and is loud but not obnoxious. That's pretty much going to be as loud as you can get, except for going cat-less also. When you go cat-less though the tone changes and can get pretty raspy in my opinion, not to mention your car will smell pretty bad.

You could run a SpinTech "muffler" with 2-1/2" pipe straight out the back. For a little bit of tone, you could add their tiny, tiny resonator. I happen to have one of each sitting in my garage. It's very loud.....

i was wondering, what is the cheapest way to get my exhaust loud ?

i am someone who would send my car to the mechanics to do the adjustments.. seriously dare not meddle with the MINI, not until i am knowledgeable enough . =)

to phrase my question in another way,
what should i tell my mechanic if i wan to make my exhaust sound loud ?
how loud? noticeable would do

You want a DOWNPIPE first!!!! I cannot emphasize this enough, I think the Magna flows or Borlas with a Downpipe AND catted would be plenty. If you want it LOUDER, fold your back seat down, youd be amazed at how much sound they block. There is not exhaust to my knowledge that makes as much sound and HP as a Downpipe, hence the price you pay for one.
I think Exhaust Depot has a FULL TURBO set up, people seem to say good things about this shop, If I do over, they'll probably get my money too.

I have the Ultra tuning decat dp, i had it in for abt 3 miles and it was just 2 loud! it took me ant 1hr to fit and the car felt more responsive at top end. And tbh it was so so soooooo loud it bachfired and pops with every gear change or everytime i let of the power pedal lol. I had to take it off coz its was crazy loud, shame really coz its only got 3 miles on it. Its up for sale tho £185 basically $350 not inc p&p if anyone is interested.

If you want the loudest exhaust, just add a cut-out to your stock exhaust. Or just disconnect it from the down pipe. If you want an actually exhaust, your best option would prolly be an exhaust depot 3" turbo back with no mufflers or cats.

lol i know i was just sticking up for the other <25ers back in HS there was a kid that had a ford f250 and he used to drive around in 1st and 2nd gear so that the revs were through the roof and made his already loud exhaust that much louder.....

I did the 3 inch with cat, SS, turbo back without resonator from Exhaust Depot. Nice sound, no CEL, looks great with 4 inch twin tips. They will build it the way YOU want it. Nice guy to deal with. I would do it again....

From experiance don't remove the cats! I have a custom header, no cats, one resionator, a straight muffler, 2.5" pipe. Works great for the track but I feel like a fool driving on the streets. Its still deeper than hondas and such but I can't even use my cell phone. Not to mention CEL's and a wonderful smell! (But for sheer upper end power it's the way to go, even if you are over 25...)

+1 for sophisticated and refined x<25'ers out there.

Hate fart cans. Even ridiculously loud exhausts and morons who drive in first gear around my campus JUST so people hear them get on my nerves...
You'll hear them driving in between the speed bumbs
"RRRRRRRRRRRRR" ..."rrr.. thump thump ..." ... "RRRRRRRRRRRRR"... "rr."

So retarded.

JCW for me !!!!!! Not too loud. Just slightly enough to mean business

If you're talking earth shattering, noooo way is jcw on your list

I don't know about loudest, but perhaps the best sounding on a video so far I think. Pete, Stratmosphere. 1.866.533.1777.
