Blizzak LM25 or WinterSport M3

I can't decide which tire for winter in 215/45/17 to go on my beat s-lites.

Blizzak LM25 or Dunlop SP winter sport m3

Winter here in the city of Pittsburgh is usually cold and wet/slushy with the ocational snow packed side road, not much deep snow.

Any opinions would be appreciated as i need to order them this week, inspection is due by the end of the month and the old tires are shot.

Thanks.
Jonathan

Try email to Alex@tirerack.com and see what other winter drivers report.

Both are Performance Winter tires with decent owner ratings

Slight price advantage to the Winter Sport M3 at $128 each

Interesting test of All Season tire vs Performance Winter tire-

It's close.

The Dunlop is better in powder, the Bridgestone is better in slush, water and clear roads.

Whene I live, if I were going performance tire it would be the Bridgestone.

LM-25 comes in 185/65/16 XL tire size, which fits the R56 S.

I was wondering what you take on this size is Alex? I think that the deep snow and slush will be better handled with the narrower tire and the smaller contact patch will mean more contact pressure for Ice. But during acceleration and braking on dry might be an issues with a R56 torque on a 185 winter tire...

The other option is the 205/50/16 LM-25

ok, I'm about to order wheels and 215/55R16 Stone Revo's, do I really need sensors?. Will it just result in the icon lighting up in dash, can I easily use my stock sensors? Sorry for the basic question but its my first winter with new MCS Thanks

No sensors = light on all winter. 215/55/16 is tall @ 25.3".
If you break down your current tire and wheel set, and order sensor rebuild kits - and take your new tires and wheels unmounted - the sensor install is very easy. Then mount and balance your tires!

JMO - Revo's are good but your buying antiques - past this season they wont be around anymore.
