I have heard that a mini cooper Alpine is to come out next year.
Can anybody give me more information on it? (articles, websites...)

I've never even heard the name. Where did you hear this, and what is it supposed to be? All wheel drive?

 

I believe that's Alpine, as in the factory-authorized BMW tuner (similar to AMG for Mercs)

 

It's Alpina, not Alpine. Alpina is a BMW tuner and has been for many years as others have suggested - not quite like AMG since AMG was actually bought by Mercedes and has access to all the factory resources of an in-house tuner.

Alpina has been rumored to be working on the MINI but I haven't seen anything on their actual home page:

But, I'd expect that Dinan and ALpina will both soon have offerings for the market - and I'd actually expect Dinan to be available in the states and NOT to see the Alpina readily available in the states. It's pretty rare (yes, they are out there and I've seen them but it's rare) to see any type of ALpina in the states.
