I'm getting scared of this noise, when I'm on stop and go traffic, ones I'm at a complete stop and I go on first gear and the car starts moving, for half a second the is a sound coming out of the left front corner, sounds like metal against metal low pitch noise, like if there's an old moving part, rust or something like that and you can feel a small vibration on the shift gear box.

It doesn't happen when I start the car in the morning, unless I get to stop and go traffic, so is not a cold start issue, it started happening about 2 months ago and my MINI is only 3 months old, 08 MCS

I don't really have time to go to the dealer right now, maybe in a week or 2, I just hope is nothing bad, what do you guys think? has anyone had this issue before?

Sounds like it could be a brake caliper not releasing properly. I would bring it to the dealer since it is only 3 months old. Perhaps they can give you a loaner to get you on the way.

 

or a CV joint, on my old R53 the noise was not there when cold, but increased as it warmed up. take it to the dealer.
