H&R Coilovers (NON RSS)

Hey H&R Coilovers guys,
I have a 05 MCS modified a little bit by Helix and myself.

I am running Falken ZE-912's 215/40R-17 with stock struts / shocks with H-sport springs and a 22mm Comp. sway bar. (Anti-sway bar). M7 top strut bar and OMP lower stress bar. I also have Helix adj. lower control arms in the rear with TSW adj. endlinks on all for corners.

The ride is ok but the stance is poop. . (The front still looks too high)
The H-Sports have been on almost a year and they have already settled.

Now I am looking to lower my car (front esp) with a nice set of proven coilovers.
I do not want to replace struts and shocks and mix & match springs.
I just want a nice complete set of coilovers.
Sorry I do not want BC or Megans or Eibach's. I NEVER track the car and I do not really need something with camber plates. If I need camber plates in the future I am sure Eric and Ralph will hook me up when I am down a Helix getting more Mods done.

What I would like a comfortable sporty ride with a nice low drop / stance. Is this what you H&R c/o guys have now?

I am leaning very heavily to the H&R’s (non RSS) for ride comfort and adjustability and proven reputation. I am also considering Koni.

H&R coilover guys let me know what you think. Pic’s and “I have them” replies welcome.
I live in the burbs of Philadelphia and the roads suck, just not as bad as Philly or NYC.

Thanks

just got my H&R coilovers installed at Helix in June. rides great. think about the Ireland Engineering Fixed camber plates. i never track either and these were only $180 and a great option.

Did you also get them at Helix?

i'm also thinking about going the coilover route rather than the koni yellow + springs setup. i keep telling myself that i don't need the height adjustability but that front end of mine is kinda getting to me. i too want the benefit of having height adjustability minues the jarring ride.

I hear ya. I would like to see some pictues of H&R coilover set ups and ride comfort impressions.

I am ready to pull the trigger on this upgrade with Eric at Helix.

I've got a set of H&Rs (RSS) on my '06 S and love them. They were an amazing improvment and although the ride is much stiffer it is very compliant and not uncomfortable. They do lower the car more than I expected but it looks great. Do note though that you will want to get adjustable lower control arms to dial out the add'l negative camber resulting from the lowering of the car. I had mine aligned after installing and they could only get it to negative 2.7 in the rear. Believe me it's great on the track but will end up wearing out your tires on the inside edge if it's not adjusted back to spec.

Wildfamily: Thanks for you imput. I already had Helix install the Helix Adj lower control arms and I installed the TSW adj end links. I was thinking the RSS version was stiffer that the standard H&R c/o. I think I am getting to old to deal with a real stiff suspension now.

I will get the whole thing aligned & dialed in when the coil overs are installed.

Since I work from home my car sits in the garage all day so I have no worries on the tires wearing out on the way to work just yet.
