JCW Gear Shift Light Owners: How to cover the green light?

Anybody out there have the JCW gear shift light and get annoyed by the green light that is always on? During the day, it's not a big deal, but on a long drive at night it is just annoying to have a bright green light shining. I really don't understand the logic of it being on all the time. If I'm not close the redline, then no lights should be on. Anyone have ideas on covering or disabling it?

You know you can turn if off completely by pressing the button on the back? Otherwise I guess there must be a way to disable just the one green bulb but I'm afraid I don't know how

I used to turn it off every time I got into the car. After a month I forgot all about it. Now I don't even notice it.

I did not know about disabling it...thanks!

I have electrical tape on it now, but that is so 'ghetto'.

I've had it for four months and usually I don't even notice also, but on long trips at night I eventually start to notice and it drives me crazy.

I've thought about trying to find a plastic cap of some sort to put on it, but no luck finding something like that at Home Depot yet.

cut out little circles like hole punch circles of some material either electrical tape or construction paper, to cover each of the individual lights- it'll look less ghetto than a piece of tape over it for sure.
