Floyd's First Fantabulously Fun Fall Frolic

Saturday October 11th. 10:30 AM - Gather at Sharon & Floyd's house which is 10 minutes off the I-26 Hendersonville NC Exit 49A. We will enjoy light morning refreshments of coffee, juice, fruit and such...depart around 11AM...varied itinerary...the biggest bulls you've ever seen...ridge running, mighty fine twisties to rival those on the Dragon, a run up the Blue Ridge Parkway and an afternoon lunch at Mt Mitchell for good food and spectacular long range views.

I'll PM anyone who is interested with specific directions to our home.

It looks like our tentative list of participants are:

Lady Godiva (Trudee)
SueG
Geekswrath (Rob)
Lilruffcat and Welshdragon (Carol and David)
HiHoCooper (Bruce & Cathy)
Chris and Ann
Onamshn (Floyd & Sharon)...of course

Anyone else interested, just let us know and we will send you detailed directions to the starting point in Hendersonville. We are providing a light breakfast and maps for the run once you arrive at 10:30AM.

Sorry, will be leading the Alpaca run that day...glad to see you're giving folks another option, and I'll hit yours next year, b/c I only go every other year with my events...your drive will be a lot more scenic, too! ;-)

Whoops! I missed that there is a M2C2 fund-raising event on the same day. We're certainly not set in stone on our date and if there is enough interest we can move the run to Oct 25th....no telling when the leaves will be at their peak.

Man is that a beautiful sight...I have gone up there on occasion for a huge tractor show at the Wanyes Agricultural Center that is happening that time of year. A light breeze and all those pretty leaves are coming down like rain. So many colors.

I have already signed up for the charity run. If you do decide to change the date I can do any other weekend so far.

Since this is local, I should be able to do this one!

PS--Floyd, do you all know a gal named Juliet who's a hairdresser at Full Circle Salon in AVL? When I got my MINI, she said she knew some folks from Hendersonville in a MINI club...

Well...I'm thinking we're going to keep the 11th as our date since we can't pass up the Gatlinburg Mini Boo trip which is scheduled for the 25th...sounds like too much fun. I hate that we're opposite the Asheboro Alpaca charity run but it's just a bit too far for us old folks to make in a day....but we can still contribute to our club charity...we have the technology for that.

I was serious in my post it's good to give folks options, especially at different geographic locations around the state. There's always going to be conflicts, b/c we're fortunate to have such an active MINI community in the Carolinas...

That monday the 13th is my birthday, you'll have to talk to Carol Ann about any plans, she has something hatched.

This is your run but I would like to make a suggestion. How about making it a Charity run and ask for donation of 20 bucks and collect used or old Mini T Shirts for our Quilt? Just a thought that was brought up at our Meet N Eat last night. Don't forget to download the waiver forums and send them to Secretary. Have a great run! Luke

Great idea Luke! Consider it done! (and thanks for the tip about the waiver forms....would have forgotten all about them).

The date is definitely Saturday 11th October...that hasn't changed. M2C2 will now have runs in eastern nc (the alpaca run) and western nc (the mt mitchell run) for our favorite charity on the same day. How cool is that?

I'm so glad you asked! Yes, Yes, Yes...we're absolutely still on for the 11th! (there's another group heading down on the following week-end but we're definitely a go for the Saturday, the 11th...our is the western contingent charity run to go on the same day as the Alpaca Run). I'll get directions to anyone via PM.
