nov 8th bridge tour?

Dear Burning River Club Members,
Last week my wife and I did a test run on the Ashtabula Covered Bridges. We survived and are still married!!!! I think this is a bad idea to do this tour in Mini Coopers.
#1. 30% of the roads are gravel or seal and chip. They have had alot of rain and wash outs. I bottomed out 3 times and bent one rim.
#2. 11 of the bridges that we saw 3 were not funtional and only 2 were pleasing to the eye.
#3 We spent over 4 hours following a poorly marked map and roads that 50% had no street signs (hence the still married part!)
My rational for canceling this particular idea is I do not want to be responsible for Mini damages or driver/navagator disputes.
Greg

Covered Bridges Tour

Greg, I would be interested in taking a look at the path you followed. Hubby and I did this tour with all 14 bridges and didn't find the same conditions as you. However....... We were in the MGA. So bottoming out and bent rims would definitely get my cancel vote. I would just like to compare notes is all.

Has there been any talk of a fall colors tour?
I met with a few folks from the LOCO Brits and talked about volunteering my place for an Oct 18 event. I will get a better sense of a commitment from them and give an update probably in the next month. They were talking games and food and kickin tyres.

What do you all think among the BRM peeps?
I am more than happy to volunteer my place but someone would have to come up with a drive idea. I am thinking I might be able to get help from Alan on that but since he works on the weekends, it might be tough.

Anyway Kick that around among yourselves, let me know. :D

Wow I am so sorry to here about your rim. I think we need to come up with another plan for this drive, Greg are you still up for planning something or did you want someone else too? You are more then welcome to plan a different drive.
