Picnic at Mt. Charleston on Sunday, August 17.
The Sin City MINI Club with have a picnic this month at Mt. Charleston on August 17. We will be joined by the British Auto Club for this event. The club will be supplying burgers, hot dogs and brats, please bring a side dish to share. We will be leaving from Santa Fe Station Casino, at 4949 N Rancho Dr, Las Vegas. Meet in the parking lot on the NE corner of the property at 11:00 am. The picnic area is the Cathedral Rock Group Picnic Area B, which is at the very top of the Kyle Canyon Road. The turn off to the picnic area is just before the upper Mount Charleston Lodge.
Please let me know if you are thinking of coming so we can get a rough idea of how much food to buy.
Later in the month we will have a Motor In at the Timbers Bar and Grill on Craig Road, and next month we'll go on a winery tour. Check back at http://sincityminiclub.com/events.htm for details of upcoming events.
Thanks,
Steve

Just a reminder about the picnic on Mount Charleston this Sunday, August 17. We will be hosting the British Auto Club, and expect a good turn out, so bring a little extra of your side dish.
If you are planning on coming and haven't let me know all ready, please respond to this message so we can get a count before we go shopping for the burgers and brats. Also, please bring your own beverages.
Thanks,
Steve

and removed supercharger to inspect water pump (appeared good and apparently put back...Once I'd gone to that much trouble getting it out I'd have put in a new one...just in case). Now they are going to take my driving lights off and see what happens (recall that the first 3 overheats happened BEFORE the lights were installed). I can see it now. No overheats, so therefore it MUST be the lights...I suppose the possibility exists that the lights are causing the problem and the first three overheats were due to the thermostat (replaced after the third event)...but I have my doubts.
My MIN IUSA POC was helpful in getting the field enginneer involved (by phone, he didn't come to Vegas), but not much more than that.
PS: The SA at the dealer (I'm sure all Vegas folks know who I mean) gave me grief today for giving them low ratings on the computer survey I get following my "last" visit; you know, the one where it overheated 6 miles after I left. Gee, I can't imagine why...
