Ebay HID fog light kits - Come on!!!

Has anyone installed one of those ebay HID xenon kits on the fog light? They are usuallyunder $100 (probably come from China, but hey, what isn't anymore). I've installed one on a motorcycle and two on a truck and haven't had any major issues. I've read the fog lights are H8. Based on the last install I did, I was pretty much plug-n-play.

the only problem i have with these kits are the lack of a proper wiring harness. they have it setup that it draws the power to run the ballasts thru the stock light bulb wires. when the bulb and ballast first turn on and go thru the color shifting phase, it draws somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 to 5 times the normal running current. you will not see any problems initially when you install these kits, but over time, you have the potential to melt the wires and it will be a very costly fix. a simple $10 DIY harness or $40 prefabricated harness will eliminate this future headache.

insert the usual lecture about putting HID in halogen housing and the glare it causes and the danger to oncoming traffic.
