no kidding. my dealer was soooo desperate for certified pre-owneds I ended up getting $18K trade for my 2005 S with 27,000 miles that I only paid $24K for in 2004 
plus an additional $250 off msrp for my 2009 model 
It's truly a seller's/trader's market right now.
(6 months ago the trade offer was $15.5K, but then there were at least 15 used MINIs on the lot)

bump. I know y'all are obsessed with yr cars, but this is good info to read about WHY the cars are in such high demand. Also, there's a story about the MINI "Colorado" crossover SUV that'll be making it's debut in Geneva later this year.
