Dent Wizard quote at MINI of Sterling
Dent Wizard quote at MINI of Sterling
I brought my Mini in for service at Mini of Sterling this morning (its computer seems to have become possessed) and it seems they have a new thing. While checking the car in, they pointed out the fact that I have 3 dime-sized dents (with no paint damage) caused by jackassi opening their doors on it. They gave me a Dent Wizard quote of $279 to fix the 3 dents, which will be done while the car is in Mini's custody. Again, these are very small dings with no paint damage. Is this a good price??
Also, does anyone know from experience whether or not such dents can be removed with on of those suction cup dent pullers, without causing any damage?
Thanks!

BMW/MINI of Sterling has been the Dent Wizard service location for quite a few years. The way the did it in the past was that the Dent Wizard tech came to the service center and did the work (i.e. if you called Dent Wizard they told you to make an appointment at BMW of Sterling). I don't know if they now have a full time staff to do the work.
That being said I don't know if the price is currently good or not. I had a dent taken out in Reston/Herdon at a detail shop about four or five years ago and that price seems inline with what I paid (at least 150 for the one dent).
Hope that little bit of info helps.

You could look for other PDR.
Dent Wizard is much higher here than a couple of private companies which do PDR. I had a huge dent in another car Dent Wizard wanted $300 to fix but the local company did a great job on it for $120.

My Hubby's business deals with working in the car lots. This quote sounds about right.
Please don't try to buy one of those darn fix it yourself kits. 99.9% of the time they don't do the job you expect. Most of these dent guys put alot of time and money into learning just how to take care of different type dents without causing further damage.
As a favor I had one of the dent guys pull a small dime size dent from our F150 in the door. I knew the guy so I stayed and chatted with him while he did the work. He had to pull the door panel, disconnect all the wiring for the power doors/windows. He didn't do the work as I had seen on TV - hint, hint. That's surely why he did a flawless job.
Another resourse for a possible quote would be Dent Doctor if there's one in your area. He may just be a little cheaper.

The price looks about right. The DentWizrd at Mini of StL charged about $80-$100 I guess depending on where the dent was.
Tip: check check all the interior panels when they are done to be sure they replaced everything properly and did not bend anything out of shape.
As for DIY, I have no experience.
